Paypal problems

I had to cancel a payment for an item bought via ebay as the seller had used an invalid email address so the payment couldnt be accepted by them.
So the payment should be credited to my account which did happen on the 28th and then straight away it was debited again from my card. Paypal say when i telephone them (4 times now) that they didnt and i need a transaction number which i got from my bank also a copy of the statement showing the transaction, they wont accept the transaction number over the phone just telling me over and over that it maybe recredited within 30 days and they didnt do it and that they dont have my money yet the statement clearly shows that they did and they do. Im confused and tired going round in circles.
Ive emailed them copies of the statement showing it.

Has this happened to anyone else and did you get your money back?
Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

The money will have been debited from your card (if thats the payment method) This cannot be stopped. When you cancelled the payment the money went back to your paypal account (not your card) so your account was still debited.

Then when you repaid for the item it would have been debited again if the refund was totally complete which could be why you have 2 debits. I would wait a week or so and see if they right themselves and it makes a bit more sense as ikt can take a while for all the transactions to go through and be listed.
