    Hi Trish

If this was mis sold then yes, check out the reasons on the checklist to see if any of them apply to you.

If so then pursue the bank by sending them a completed questionnaire - this replaced the reclaiming template letter on this site and keep a copy for yourself as well. This is in case you need to refer to this at some point.

They have 8 weeks to give a decision, but may possibly request for more time.

    Good luck with this.;)

If this was missold to you then as Di says "yes" you can make a complaint but depending on how it was sold to you (applied to card) in the first place makes quite a difference. How was this sold to you? Was it an advised sale or non advised sale?

It was actually a non advised sale.

So was it taken out online perhaps or by postal application and how did it come that the PPI was applied to the account?

Some firms used pre ticked boxes on their online applications but other did not. If you actually applied and ticked the box for the PPI to be taken out you would usually tick that you had read the terms and conditions of this also. This would make it a battle to reclaim.

I has a phone call about this and asked for paper work before agreeing. However I recently noticed that it was coming out anyway, without the paperwork. How do I stand?

    Hiya

How long ago was this Steve?

If over the last 6 years, they should still hold data on the account and therefore you can request for a subject access request (SAR) if you want to, by enclosing a £10 cheque or postal order, they have 40 calendar days to comply.
    SAR template letter here:

You can give it a go without the paperwork, just as long as you have your reasons for being mis sold and the account number in relation to the account.
    Good luck.;)
