I have a child who already has a child Trust fund but my older child does nto quality for this. I am struggling to find something, other than a general saving account that will make the most of this Any Suggestions would be appreciated.

By the way you have written the above it appears the CTF is an equity (stocks and shares) based investment; in that case there are very few constraints in opening up an equity based investment in your name designated for your other child.

A CTF is a wrapper, much like an ISA, which offers certain benefits not applicable otherwise. Most if not all of the CTF providers also offer non-CTF investment products.

Not only that but the non-CTF versions often have lower charges too.
  • CTFs are rubbish. High charges and the sprog gets the money when they are 18, not when you want them to get it.
