Hi there,

I have already had some help of Di she is great! If ur reading this anychance of some help here too :) This is sort of a diary and asking for advice at the same time.

My boyfriend has just said he had a loan from HSBC 3 years ago and defnatey paid the insurance on it that the lady on the phone said he HAD to have to get it, as he is a man and wanted his car he said yes. He paid the loan off and closed the account.

So if this is right --- I am going to write to HSBC at

The Manager,
Service Quality Team,
HSBC Bank plc,
Arlington Business Centre,
Millshaw Park Lane,
Leeds,
LS11 0PP.

To ask for TandC's of the account and statements? is this right?

I need to add a £1 postal order in there for this right?

For me to make a claim do I need to prove that I was mis-sold the PPI?? Is this with statements or do I just need an account number?

Sorry even tho ive read the details on how to claim im finding it hard - do I fill in the questionnaire?

I am also going to do the same with my egg card writing to them at the address Di gave me.

After that im going t try with my morgage although that is a totally different story! All I have is the morgage papers that I got with halifax - would it b them would charge me for PPI?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me here. Thiscould seriously help me with my debt :)

That's sweet of you thank you.;)

I do home someone can confirm the correct address for you, as it may also be this one here....
    HSBC registered office at:

    HSBC Bank Plc
    8 Canada Square,
    London,
    E14 5HQ

However, you could post by recorded/signed for delivery, check the status of delivery on Track and Trace via Royal mail website, and they should actually forward to the appropriate dept for you anyway.:)

You can request for these at any time free of charge, they are useful to have hold of, they may even hold them on their website.

I need to add a £1 postal order in there for this right?
You pay for this by cheque or postal order - to request for a copy of the agreement, and ask they supply by 12-14 days, this will include details of the PPI too.

For me to make a claim do I need to prove that I was mis-sold the PPI?? Is this with statements or do I just need an account number?
Yes, whatever your reasons are you write what applies to you.
You write down the account number on the reclaim of what account it relates too, so the loan number is fine.

There is a checklist of mis selling reasons......here.....

Sorry even tho ive read the details on how to claim im finding it hard - do I fill in the questionnaire?
And yes the questionnaire here below is the one you complete on this link....

I am also going to do the same with my egg card writing to them at the address Di gave me.
    Good luck.;)

This is one for Dunstonh, who helps and advises in regards of mortgage ppi, so when your ready post up a new thread with subject line of "Mortgage PPI help".
As long as you have the account number that is fine, but if you do require data, you do of course have the option of requesting for a Subject Access Request (SAR), you enclose £10 cheque or postal order for this request and they have 40 calendar days to comply.
There is a SAR letter template here:

  • Ive ordered all my old statements from both banks costing me £5 and they said I could back as far as I wanted. I think its worth this money to have them to be honest! I can see exactly to who and where I have paid my hard earned money!!

I am sending a personal letter to HSBC not the obudsman questionnaire. Its the first go, will do that after! Thanks to veryone - I can use this as a diary now so other people can see the way?!

  • this was my letter

Please note At the time of the loan I was living at ~~~~~~~~~~~~.

I was Mis-sold PPI insurance by your company, as I was told by sales team in order to have this loan I HAD to have to insurance. I have now found out that this was not the case and I was therefore Mis-sold this insurance.

I therefore am requesting that you refund me the full amount paid for this insurance as well as the interest from this account.

I would be most grateful if you could comply by 8 weeks and if I do not receive a favourable desision I will be forced to consider taking further action through the financial Ombudsman Service or Via courts.

I look forward to hearing from you shortly and resolve this matter deftly,

    Yours sincerely

Yes the questionnaire is more detailed, there is no harm in sending them a covering letter to go with the questionnaire though.;)

I did not fill one questionnaire or template letter in when i wrote to the banks to claim my mis sells, barclays sent their own questionnaire out that i filled in. I dont think the ombudsman questionnaire is really relevant in this first instance.
Feel free to shoot me down in flames :eek: but please be gentle :o as i am knocking on a bit now :D
