How to get Fifa 11 (PS3) for 16 QUID!

My local Asda has the trade in symbol online, but says the following:
"Trade in your PS3, XBOX 360, Wii and DS games now at this store to get money off the latest Games and Entertainment releases or even your grocery shopping! This store will also be selling pre-owned games from 11th October 2010 along with the latest new gaming titles. Please see in-store for trade-in deals and new release prices."
I rang the store and they said they don't do games trade ins, except for the special offer for today only, being the 3 games listed on the Fifa 11 promotion.0 -

online it says
Trade-ins aren’t limited to these three games though – we’ll check the trade-in price of any game you bring to store (provided we have it listed and it meets our quality control standards) and tell you right away how much you’ll get off the FIFA title. It doesn’t matter what platform your games are on either – we’ll take PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS games.Make £11,000 in 2011 challenge - £120/£11,0000 -
just got back after finding a asda that did trade in. omg how fussy if it had any marks wasn't accepted. Luckily my fifa 10 was ok but the fifa 10 world cup had a mark on the inside of the outer cover (ie on the flip side of the paper which had the fifa logo on)
for anyone elses info fifa world cup was only £7 anyway
mike
One of mine was a little scratched but they still took it.
They would have taken a pound off if they were not satisfied with the quality.0 -

Just saying what I was told by CS at Asda Killingbeck Leeds.
They said they don't trade in any games at all.
The only games that will be traded in are the 3 listed in the promotion as it is a special offer.0 -
Worked at a different local Asda!
Got 2 x fifa 10 at Grainger Games, £16.
Traded in at Asda Crown Point Leeds, for Fifa 11.
My gf went for me, and said it was just about the last copy of the game.0 -
Cheers, just pulled this off myself.
Warrington CEX has literally dozens of copies of Fifa 10 for PS3 (I counted atleast 30!), so had no trouble picking a pair of pristine boxes & discs.
Unfortunately Warrington Asda had sold out of Fifa 11 for 360, and according to the staff so had all the other nearby stores. (all gone by 12:05am!)
I was however still able to exchange the 2 copies of Fifa 10 for £30 credit on a gift card.
I had a hunch the Altrincham Asda Living store would still have stock as the lack of groceries means it's frequented far less. As it happens I was right.
They had 14 copies when I phoned, 8 copies by the time I got to the store, and I saw 3 people walking to the counter with game-in-hand as I left the shop. I expect they'll all have gone by now.
For those curious, there is a golden trading circuit here.
1) Buy 2x Fifa 10 PS3 @ CEX -£16.
2) Sell 2x Fifa 10 PS3 @ Asda +£30 store credit
3) Buy Fifa 11 (360 or PS3) @ Asda -£29.97 store credit
4) Sell Fifa 11 (360 or PS3) @ CEX +£32 store credit.
Rinse & repeat ad infinitum for lots of free Asda store credit! (£16 initial investment, and doubling your store credit every successful loop!)0 -
I did this this morning and also got £16 Modern warfare 2 on PS3 so £1 up!!!0

Major thanks to the op here. Just to let everyone know I went to Bromley CEX where they had hundreds of Fifa 10, brought 6. Toddled off to Asda Bexleyheath and traded in all 6!!!! £90 on a gift card for a spend of £48 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:beer:
Now I have no interest in buying Fifa 11 but was told can be used for anything in store. Will use mine towards Xmas shopping.
Also has a thought whilst in there the sell game consoles so if for instance you wanted to buy a DSI for someone for Xmas Asda are currently selling it for £115. By my calculations it would end up costing you £64 with £5 left over if you brought 8.
Maybe this thread should be reposted without the FIFA 11 bit?Starting this comping thing again wish me luck0 -
My son went to the York store (its listed on the website as doing trade ins) they wouldnt accept any games for trade in apart from the 3 listed in the ads. He ended up going to Game an trading all his games in so he could get Fifa 11. Seems that Asda stores all doing different things there is no consistancy.0

And when is Martin going to change the name of the site from "Moneysavingexpert" to "Moneymakingexpert"?
If someone has found a way of abusing the system well that's up to them but if a handful of people went and did what you've done it won't take long before Asda pull the plug on this deal and loads more people lose out.
Like the poor kids who have got a ridiculously devalued copy of FIFA 10 that won't get them more than a tenner in High Street store now.0
