Buildings insurance - occupied for renovation

Hi all,
I've bought a house to renovate but am a bit confused by the extent of insurance I need upon completion. I called a few places who said they'd get back to me with a quote but as far as I understand it, I need a "renovation cover" policy... as I'll be getting the place gutted and rewired, installing new central heating, new doors & windows etc etc.
While this is going on, the house will be occupied so I was wondering if anyone who'd done a similar thing could give me some pointers? A lot of insurers ask about window locks and the like, which the place won't have until renovation is done.
Is there anyone who will do a normal buildings insurance policy with the additional cover that will revert to "normal" cover when the works are complete?
Thanks!

during non-inhabited renovation you can normally only get FLEA cover - fire, earthquake (forget the other two) - but if you are living in there i think you need to talk to an insurance broker...0
