Hi
I have a Transport for London PCN. I admit I was there, they have kindly sent me 2 photos to prove it.!
Code 31, Yellow box at junction. The photos show my car with the back wheels still in the box, but the car in front of me stopped, so I had to stop, the traffic was moving, then suddenly stopped.
Advise please:-
Is the attached link of the yellow box marked out correctly, as far as you can tell from the google map?
I have read on the PNC . co .uk site that:- A box junction must meet the kerb on all 4 corners............ A yellow box can only be at a junction unless a specific approval has been given by the department for transport.
To me it does not look like the box is correctly marked out, ie it does not touch all for corners of the kerbs.
Thank you for any help or advise

I would post on pepipoo about your case here:
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30
Start a new pepipoo thread after reading up on the subject a bit and reading their forum stickies and FAQs first. Show them that picture and also showing them pics of the front and back (all pages, everything) of your PCN. Blank out the PCN number and your ID and car reg, but leave in all pages and all dates. The Council may have mucked up the PCN.
As for the yellow box, it can be hard to win the argument about markings as you'd be relying on an adjudicator - so IMHO you need more than this in your appeal. That's why you need to start a thread on pepipoo.
FWIW I will say that I have a pretty good memory for info I have read on parking tickets, and I thought I had read in a previous box junction thread on pepipoo that there's some guidance to say that box junctions like that one should ideally only cover one side of the carriageway, not the whole carriageway. Ask about that when posting as I am uncertain where the info I read actually came from and if that argument would carry much weight.
Finally, you will need to go and see the video evidence, don't rely on their still photos which absolutely CANNOT prove that any moving traffic contravention occurred. Also, Google 'logiclaw Steve YBJ' and 'moneyboxjunction' to understand what the contravention really is.
Oddly enough, the alleged offence is not the wording shown on the PCN. You will see that when you read the Google results, it's all down to what happened at the point when you decided to enter the YBJ, and why you subsequently stopped.
Here's some light reading for you as well:

HTH, happy reading and researching, and good luck.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'll give you 3 guesses why they only show the pic or two which are most damning. AIUT the rule is "you must not enter a yellow box if your exit is not clear," this can refer to a different lane (which you could have driven into)As CM says, its important to also look at the video to see what exactly happened and when. Its always better to hit them with the maximum amount of errors on their part, they cave in easier (but not sooner as they want to bluff you into paying.)I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
