Hi there. Not quite sure where to post this. I just went to log onto my hsbc account and after entering my account number i got a warning message saying that the site was untrusted and could be a copy of the real site, and warned me not to enter anymore details. Luckily i closed it off and went back to hsbc via google and noticed that the address had "amana" (or something like that) in the addy. The addy i usually use was much further down the page on google. Not sure whats gone on, and am a little worried. Has anyone else had this problem?

Just went and found the link in my history

http://www.hsbcamanah.co.uk/1/2/

This was the first link on the google page, which is where the correct link usually is. Looks so much like the real HSBC

And post it, then some people will tell you what to do.
  • I was told a while back by my bank not to google or use any other search engine to get onto their website as thse engines bring upanything with the banks name on it even fake sites. Was always told to type the address in direct to the address bar.

  • Thanks will do that in future :-)

As for the virus...i hope not!!! Have got antivrus and am just doing a scan now, although it has always been very good in the past and blocked dodgy sites...just not this one :-(
  • HSBC Amanah is their specialist site for Islamic banking.
  • hsbc are introducing rapport.

I suggest that you download this from HSBC website to help you feel more secure.

RBS / Natwest have been using this for years. It seems to work okay for me, but then i cant really say otherwise.
