New car insurance quote vs. renewal
Hello
I am with Hastings Direct and they have offered me a renewal on my car insurance for about £390 (after original quote of £450). I told them that this wasn't competitive enough and the policy is now not due to be renewed.
The problem is that I can get a new policy with them for £330 through their website - can I do this having just cancelled my existing policy? I can't see anything in T's and C's that excludes current policy holders from obtaining a new quote...?
Thanks
Stephan

You haven't cancelled your policy, you've just chose not to renew. You are then free to get a new policy, and that includes them aswell, nothing stopping you doing it.0

No reason at all, just make sure they don’t auto-renew the old one.
As a matter of principle I’d go elsewhere as the renewal & subsequent reduced premium still being £60 above a new policy is taking the mick & insulting your intelligence
Obviously, principles take a back seat if they are significantly cheaper than the competition once you’ve gone through the insurance bit of the main site http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/compare-cheap-car-insurance & seen what quidco et al are willing to contribute0 -
Thanks very much.
Exactly the responses I was hoping for!0
