TFT moniter

I have just bought this

19" Video Seven L19WA Widescreen Silver/Black TFT, 1440x900, 8 ms, 500:1, 300 cd/m2, Speakers

But it is no where near as sharp as my dell 15" tft which it is replacing

I have got a dell dimension 3100 (6 months old)

It seems to give me a bit of eye strain
Is there anything I should be adjusting ?

make sure your tft is set up properly if its a good one it should have a menu with selections. If you have tried that then try windows and check the display settings refresh rate

    try changing the screen resolution

right click on the windows desktop - properties - settings

try different screen resolutions - it will probably all come sharp when you get the right one

Your TFT manual or setup sheet should have told you what is the native resolution of the screen, at which the image looks "best" (Dell stick a clear sheet of plastic film with the native resolution in big numbers on all their new monitors!). Otherwise look for some typical native resolutions by screen size.

After setting the native resolution, you may also want to try this:

Thanks all , I have changed the resolution and it is super sharp now

Albertross; What does your link to powertoy actually do before I try it ?

I have been to view and text and checked biggest
But is there a way of making text bigger or is it quite small because it is a widescreen ?

it adjusts the pixels on a TFT to fool your eye into thinking the text on the screen is sharper than it really is. Google for cleartype.
