Deposit Protection dates wrong on form (1 year difference)

I have started a new thread as it is different to my other one, basically i informed my landlord that his S21 notice was invalid because he had not protected my deposit, i had already had confirmation from the 3 schemes that he hadnt.
Then i have a letter today confirming that the deposit was protedced in september 2009, i then telephoned them only for them to say that it was protected in 2010 not 2009.
How can it have 2009 on the letter
Below is an email i sent them

On the 15th September i recieved an email confirming that my deposit had not been protected(Email Below), then today 30th September i recieved a letter confirming the landlord had protected my deposit on 17 September 2009.
I rang dps and they confirmed that it was infact protected from 17 september 2010, why does it state on you're website and my confirmation letter 2009 when it wasnt protected until 2010.
My landlord is clearly lying and breaking the law, i need a confirmation letter confirming the real date it was protected, my landlord as also given you a false email and telephone number for me.

Did you send this email to complaints@depositprotection.com?

You need to make it clear to them that your LL has served a s21 notice prior to the true deposit registration date and that this is why you need them to provide you with the correct information, with an explanation as to why you were given the wrong date.

You can go online and amend contact info for yourself, and the Ts and Cs state that keeping such info up to date is the Ts responsibility. Your LL *is* however obliged to provide factually correct information

See extract from DPS's terms and conditions

    15. Changes in Landlord’s or Tenant(s) Data
    a. Lead Tenants will be able to update their own contact details, Tenants’ email addresses and telephone numbers at any time online. It is the Lead Tenant’s responsibility to ensure that their forwarding address and all contact details are up-to-date. Landlord’s may change any other data held in relation to the Landlord or notify The DPS of a Change of Landlord or request a Change of Tenant. Landlords must ensure that all information held by The DPS in relation to Tenancies, and Deposits for which they are responsible are up to date and factually correct.

If you don't get a quick response, send a snail mail letter via RD, and keep a copy.

Hi, Landlord forged the letter, it was from him not the DPS he gave them false contact details for me and they sent confirmation to his email not by post.
he then re-arranged words to work in favour of him.

    Anyone had this experience?

None of the schemes would allow a LL to have a deposit listed as having been registered a year previously so , yes, of course it will be an error but that does not alter the fact that the T is entitled to have absolute confirmation from the deposit scheme, especially when the validity or otherwise of a s21 is at stake.

    Edit- cross posted with OP
