3M Scotchgard - do it myself?

Looking to buy a sofa now (a fabric one, girlfriend is vegetarian and doesn't like leather, sighhh!) and have been quoted £35 per seat to have it Scotchgarded.

Is this generally worth doing? Or am I better off buying maybe 5 cans of spray and doing it myself? Anyone else had experience of this?

Cheers

its just another name for a warranty scam.
    dont pay it.

my auntie was in Cousins in manchester the other month, buying a bed.
they sold her a "matress protection programme".
    scam.
i got it cancelled a week later.
    Get some gorm.

Thanks, so avoid it but get the sprays? Or are they already sprayed?

it all depends on whether you intend to spill red wine on it.
i tend to take care of my furniture. i dont require any doubtful "insurance" on it.

Good point thanks, I'm pretty damn clumsy though, and I'm sure stuff will be spilt on it ;/ Maybe I'll just go the cheaper option and spray some of that stuff on it myself.
