Question regarding qualification for Microsoft Office Education packages?
I have been requested by a local historical society to price a system for a digital projector to be used for historical shows for the general public. The society is a non profit organization and funds are limited.
A grant was issued to the society for the equipment however I am finding the budget a bit tight, with the full retail microsoft office package (£320) where as the educaution version is only around £120.
Any guide lines or advice if the society would qualify for the Education package?
Thanks

Are you aware that there is a free suite of programs called "Open Office" that looks are feels remarkably close to Microsoft Office.

You might find that this fits all your needs.

Oh -- And it's compatible with MS file formats too :-)0 -
Perhaps someone can help on this one?
I an intending to purchase the laptop from ebuyer for this project. I have noticed that they have an oem package of microsoft office http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/100619/rb/22182921813
I note at the bottom of the page that it quotes
"Microsoft OEM ApplicationServer software Must be purchase with a fully assembled computer system only. Full Retail boxed products must be ordered if no hardware PC system is to accompany the sale."
So does that mean that it's ok to use with the new laptop?
If it is, that's great I am then within the budget!0 -

Well you are ordering a "fully assembled computer system" i.e. a laptop so that sounds OK. OpenOffice will still be cheaper though!
If you still want to go the Microsoft route, see if the Small Business Edition will meet your needs as that is cheaper than Office Pro.0
