No access from the front to back garden

Morning all,
I am viewing a house on Sunday that has been heavily extended from one neighbours boundary to next doors boundary with no side access from the front of the house to back garden. The only access is through the garage into a lean to/sun room.
The back garden is patio & gravel with boarders. My question is would it put you off buying it? does anyone else have a property that has this and found it a inconvenience.
Any advice would be helpful
Thanks Gemma

All mid terraced houses are like this. There is a house between the front & back gardens, exactly where you expect it to be
It really depends on whether you want or need to access the back garden from the front of the house.0 -
I'd like the fact that if I can't get to it, then burglars can't either.
The access isn't through clean rooms so I wouldn't be bothered. Keep the lawnmower in the shed. How much stuff do you reasonablyneed to transport from the front to the back garden?
I have access from the drive to the back garden and I think it's quite vulnerable. H likes it because he dumps stuff in the back garden to 'get rid of' but looking out the kitchen door at boxes of randomness doesn't exactly enthral me!
The access on the other side we don't even use!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Wheelie bins would be my only bugbear.
Our (three) wheelies are outside the back where our kitchen is, so I don't have to carry bags/bottles/cat litter through the house. Other than that it wouldn't put me off."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
As Doozergirl says, it increases your security. And is safer for kids playing, as they can't get out! (if you have kids?)
Negatives are only really if you need to have any work done round the back, but as long as the access via the garage/sunroom is fine for gardening equipment, removing garden waste etc, it wouldn't put me off. If however, the sunroom were to be a smart room, it might!0 -
Its a 3/4 bed semi but i guess all garden rubbish would have to be bagged up and taken through lean to & garage, wouldn't be easy if we wanted to change the garden or if work men needed.0

In the house we're just buying the access to the back garden from the front is through the garage and we like that.0

Does the garden back on to anything?
I would query the boundary move or look elsewhere.
Any time you want to do any gardening in the back garden you will need to carry soil/compost/plants through the house. PITA.0 -
Thanks its all very possitive, my kids are grown up & left home & yes im keen gardener with quite abit of stuff but with no grass to mow wont need so much stuff as the front is all paved and hard standing for 4 cars. Iv got 2 dogs & the back garden does have access to tow path and canal for walks.
Thanks Gemma0 -
My last house had this set up and it never bothered me.0

it would bother me, i'm used to side access into my back garden, and all my wheelie bins can go down the side.0
