Hi I have just checked and booking through this link would actually cost me £56 more than booking same journey with GNER, from durham to filey crazy, but glad some of you are getting a bargain.0

I'm too old for a Young Persons Railcard these days... are there any other discount railcards out there for people like me?0

Great spot!
But can I suggest that if you're booking more than one journey using this offer, you book them separately. I booked two separate return journeys, the first costing £38.40 full price, and the second £29.50 full price. I booked them at the same time and was charged £33.95 with the discount. My booking confirmation showed that all the discount had been taken off the first journey, so that was showing as being £4.45, and the second journey was showing as full price.
Then I realised that I had booked the wrong outward date for the first journey - d'oh! The ticket type allowed a refund and rebooking for an admin charge of £10. However when I contacted Scotrail, they told me they couldn't give me a refund, as they'd only be able to refund me the £4.45, and it would cost me £10 for them to do so!
The only option, they said, was for me to rebook the journey.
Not sure what to do now - rebook today with the discount, effectively meaning that I will lose out on the discount, or take my chances on the day that I travel - maybe they will let me change the journey for £10 at the station?0 -
Following my previous post, I went on and had a look at how much the single tickets were. Managed to buy a first class single for only £11.50 with the discount!!! So only £1.50 more than the admin charge to travel in style...

Hi im a Ticket Collector/Guard on "one". Main types of Railcards are family railcard (must have at least one adult and child travelling max 4 adult and 4 children), Disabled raicard (ie blind,on incapasity benifit and many more), Young Persons railcard (need to be in education and yes that can include those mature students out there), and network rail card. There are others but these are location specific.
Just a quick word of warning tho.....however apealing ordering tickets with a railcard discount,if you are caught using a railcard discounted ticket but cannot produce one if asked you are liable to pay the full price for the journey you are making. hope this is some help0 -

I think it may have been the Network Rail Card that I heard about...
Would this give any discount on a Manchester to London journey?0
