Hi, What you your recommend. I want a Credit Card for the following:-
1). Use for monthly business fuel / travel expenses - alawys paid back on time.
2). Allow / Offer protection for that one off large purchase say a holiday - allow a few months to pay off -rare
3). Easy to use and not high running costs.
I've never had a credit card so I could do with some guidance
I think it also may help my credit rating, not that it's bad, I currently use a debit card both home and abroad?

Try the Barclaycard pre check tool thingy, it will give you an idea of what cards you're likley to get.

Hi thanks,
It says the barclaycard platinum, the barclaycard platinum simplicity and the barclaycard initial.
Does this help?0 -
Use that info and apply or look for cards with a similar deal.
What percentages did you get for the Platinum? The Initial is a top end starter card, if you've not had a credit card before it may be worth starting with that one."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -

I suggest you look at what credit cards your bank offers. When I wanted a credit card I was in a similar position to you having always used a debit card, but wanting purchase protection. I first applied for one which was not with my bank and was turned down- presumably because of not having a previous credit rating. I then went to my bank and was immediately given a lowish apr and high credit limit because they knew how I managed my accounts. It shows on my internet banking, I pay it off every month and it has cost me nothing so far.But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

You could also try Moneysupermarket.com's comparison tool for Credit Cards. They do a 'Smart Search' (like KingElvis mentioned with Barclay's) and it tells which cards you are more and less likely to be accepted for.0
