*** waves*** sorry been awol - well actually on holiday
got back this morning grumble groan after an hours flight then a 7 hour stop over then another 11 1/2 hours (guess you won't be going to Koh samui Ali :rotfl:) was absolutely worth it though what a fantastic place and the sea is like a bath and Thai people are so friendly. Will post some piccys when he who must be ignored gets them off the camera - 2 whole weeks is a bit of a strain
I have read back and am really sorry for everyone who is having a carp time at the mo - on a more cheerful note I'm now a granny - Aidan was born this morning at weighing 8lb 5! Boy do I feel old and OH is 2 years younger than I am so he's really suffering - I'll post a piccy of him too when I get sorted.
Someone asked about the flowers on my Sassy card - they're just rolled round either a paintbrush or the fat middle bit of my embossing tool - can't remember which I used but they held their shape coz it was quite thick paper
will catch up properly tomorrow am now going in the bath and then catch up on last nights sleep which thai airways stole :rotfl:Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Hi All,
I hope no one minds me dropping in! Am just starting out into card making () and have bought some little bits to start with but have a question and I am sure the answer is really obvious.....:o
What adhesives do people use to stick patterned papers to the actual card or inserts into the card fold? Gluesticks make the paper shrivel and the superglue I have has left some marks
Also, I bought some black cards/envelopes from Hobbycraft (won't be doing that again in a hurry!) but them seem really flimsy! What gsm do people use?
My first task will be a wedding card for my friend and I will post a pic when it is done

Welcome to the thread I always use double sided tape to stick papers with and pva glue for anything else and my card blanks are Anita's ones but lots of people on here use ones from CraftWork Cards not sure on the gsm of them though hth0 -
Rainmac - sorry to hear your Nan is back in hospital - it's probably not what they want to hear but hope your Mum & Dad can get a bit of rest while she is there, you must all be worried.
Many thanks for your email. :A No purchases here for a while - still haven't found my LOTV stamps!
Padster - Welcome back - what a long journey! Congratulations on becoming a (very young) grandma.:j Looking forward to seeing your photos.
JTR2003 - Welcome the least money saving MSE thread. I use a little Anita's tacky glue to stick paper as I find double sided tape 'grabs' too quickly for me to manage to get it straightbut I use DST for inserts. I use Craftwork card blanks - sorry no idea what gms they are.
Sadie - thanks for the new challenge.
Lizalloareds - Is that £15 a month for the Stampers 10?0 -
dragonllew when you say "for anything else" you use pva glue for anything else,I seem to use double sided tape for everything and I'm sure pva would be more cost effective but haven't tried it.I 've tried glue sticks but still end up with the tape0

Thanks dragonllew, double sided tape hadn't even crossed my mind
I have decided Ebay is very dangerous for card making supplies. I am looking forward to getting started and am hoping that DD will join in during the holidays as she is very crafty

Liquid glue is loads cheaper, I used to buy those double sided rollers and got through loads of them, since switching to glue I've saved loads and like Marg I like to be able to move my paper as I rarely stick it on straightI usually use Anita's Tacky glue and use it for pretty much everything, it dries clear and is super strong.
