DTB sorry to hear your news, my thoughts are with you and your son

My latest card is on my blog - I am finding it really difficult to photograph my cards - whats the secret?
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

Sorry I haven't been around. Life has been mental what with mum and dads ruby "do" and the school summer fair. Just as I could see it all settling down, my granny died on Friday. It was not at all unexpected but very very sad nonetheless. So looks like I'm back on order of service duty again but for a funeral this time. Soz for being on a downer - will pop back when I'm a bit more cheerful .

Sorry to read your sad news and sending cyber-hugs to you and yours.

Rusty - Card for the card drive posted 1st class today can you let me know if it arrives please? LOL at meeting Bunbun in Pizzahut :rotfl:

mouldydc - Welcome! I use Anita's Tacky Glue for most things but when fixing fine ribbon I usually anchor it on the back of the paper with double sided tape.

rainmac & flourgirl - thanks for the sale links.

vivw - I'm still trying to work out the best way to photograph my cards:rotfl: - I just take loads & pick the best & even then they aren't that good!
  • Evening folks - well what a wet and miserable afternoon it’s been. Hope the summer hasn’t been and gone already. I don’t particularly want hot but dry would be nice don’t you reckon?

viclspence - those are some lovely flowers!
vivw - love the card you’ve done for your SIL. I‘d like some photography tips too. Roll on the end of term
mouldyc - hello and welcome - you’ll find that you are going to NEED so many new things to play with!

    Hallo!

    Thanks for that, perfect answer!
Has there been any kind of "idiot's guide to card-making kits" compiled in the vast recesses of this forum?

Like, do I need the fancy pizza cutter style thingy if I'm really good with scissors? Is a ruler okay, or should I get a set square, what on earth is a brad you know, daft questions like that. :D

I use a cutting mat, metal ruler and a really sharp knife. I've tried cutters and didn't like them (they were always shredding rather than cutting) As for glue I use Glossy Accents and a Glue gun for boxes. Stacks of double-sided tape and foam stickers. It's amazing what you can gather from rubbish (ribbons from tops, old buttons, wrapping paper, old cards)

Oh and you would be amazed at how many people buy handmade cards - I was.

vivw Have a look here - this might help :o

Don't want to shock you all but I've actually started making a card!!!:eek::eek: When I've finished I WILL get your blinkies make :o
