Hi everyone how are we all?
Not long now until I do my first craft stall!
I'm hoping to pick your brains. I've just had a request through to do invitations for a wedding. The colour scheme is sage green and they would like the invitation to be this colour with the embellishments being ivory. I need the paper itself to be quite thick as it is going to be folded in a rather complicated way and it will have to be 12 x 12 (preferably double sided) I have looked in my local craft shops and Hobby craft but haven't been able to find anything suitable. I don't like buying paper off the internet incase it's not the right quality/shade and even if i did I think I would be barking up the wrong tree as I haven't been able to track anything down that fits my description! Can any of you help???? I'm really at a loss as to what to do, probably will end up going back to her and trying to get her to change her original opinion and have the paper ivory and the embellishments sage green but am hoping to try for a bit longer to track down something that would be suitable... any help at all??? thank you! x0 -
Over on the LOTV blog here the challenge set today is using die cuts and punches. I'm going to have a go and see if I can get a 'good luck' card done for the MSE challnge too. I wonder if I've got a LOTV image to spare:whistle: Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0

lorriellah, does it have to be 12 x 12? Can it be cut using A4 at all? Pink Petticoat have a sage green plain paper you can print off. All of their pattern papers have a matching plain.
Just a thought, one or two of the internet craft stores do paper matching of the 12 x 12 Bazzill Basics card, I'm off to check them out for you.
Have you got a swatch of colours to work with? Loads of greens here. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -
Hi yes it does have to be 12 x 12 as any smaller and the design of it wont fit onto the paper.
I have tracked down a mulberry paper which is 100gsm is that too thin to be sturdy enough? It's the right shade and comes in a big roll so could be good but I don't want to buy it for me to end up realising it's too thin. This is why buying online stresses me!!!0 -

lorriellah you might be able to get the card weight info from craft obsessions but bear in mind that if it is a complicated fold you don't need it too thick otherwise it doesn't lay flat very well. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0

Seeking some advice here. I bought ages ago some flourish stamps. I've decided to have a play and the stamping isn't coming out that well, they're from the Glitter Girls so not cheap. Does anyone prepare their stamps beforehand? I'm sure I heard Barbara Gray of Clarity stamps say to use nail varnish remover to get the blue off her stamps. I've never had a problem with the House Mouse stamps. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0

Morning ladies,
I'm doing a card for a friend who wants very specific wording on it. I need to print this off, which is easy enough, but do you know if I can check in Microsoft Word the width of the writing?
Essentially, if the space on the card is 10cm across, how can I confirm this before printing it out and wasting my expensive card?0
