hi everyone, nearly pain free here just a dull ache which I can cope with, until next week when the big scale and polish to my roots begins  I am secretly hoping the dentist will say he can't do the treatment but don't think that is going to happen somehow :o

Rusty how are you now? hope the pain has eased, if not I can recommend orajel it numbs your gums instantly and your tongue and anywhere else you put it really :rotfl:

Flourgirl Thanks for the tip re blogger I hope to catch up with blogs later if OH doesn't spend too long at his son's.

We have a bee's nest in our facia board right by the back door, have asked OH to block it up but he has said what harm are they doing! Well if I get stung when they are all storming about he will have it from me ;)

I have tried leaving some comments in blob land but it keeps saying your comment will be visible after approval

Does anyone know if that means mine is still playing up as I don't want to waste my time?

    Thanks

  • flourgirl - thanks for the Alice cake recipe, my DH will love this so I’ll definitely give it a go - of course I may have to try it too. Bev’s tutorial is very good isn’t it.
artydoll - great card you’ve done for the Good Luck challenge
viclspence - I tend to use printer paper for my inserts. I did use some pearlised paper once but the ink smudged so I had to bin it
twinkle - sorry things not good for you at the moment, hope you can soon get back into a regular sleep pattern
flying_fresian - great challenge card - hope you’ve found some sale sites now
carmim - hope you’ve managed some ‘man-free’ craft time
Mad-Frog - glad to read your toothache has eased a bit

I've just been on Blogger and seem to be able to leave comments OK so hope everyone else's is working tonight. Still trying to make order out of the chaos that is my craft area. Got another RUB storage tower from Hobbycraft on Friday and managing to fill that up too.

Can someone tell me more about the prismacolour pencils.....I have been on - lei_armstrong's blog and she says that they used them on the colouring course she went on

Flourgirl - I've just watched Bev's video and now see how she can command such a price for her cards! -There were some good pointers and amazing that she seems to leave so much white. I'm bemused by how the Prismacolours work or what they are? they certainly add zing. Maybe Lei & Rusty will be able to tell us. I struggle just to colour between the lines! Bev's also using the higher grade copics than I have -that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it.

Prismacolour's are effectively high grade artist pencil but they contain concentrated pigment which you can blend out using odourless mineral spirits (e.g. Sansador, Gamsol, Zest It) and a paper stump. If you shade as normal with your ProMarkers or Copics and then just add a line or Prismacolor pencil to the darkest area and blend out it really makes it pop! You can also use them by themselves by outlining an area and then blending the colour into the centre of the shape. I've got a card that i'll b uploading later in the week that just uses the black and white pencils on Kraft cardstock and it almost looks like charcoal...

flying_fresian - great challenge card - hope you’ve found some sale sites now
    I couldn't possibly comment :D

In my defence, I've only spent about £2 of "real" money as the rest has come from Ebay sales I've made today :money:

I've also had a lovely time making a couple of cards tonight - both of them a lot girlier than I would normally make, and I've decorated the insides too for once - feeling quite proud of myself :D

Evening ladies - just popping on to say hi. I hope everyone is okay. I haven't been up to much lately although I've managed to blog a few cards - I'm going for another DT position so I'm trying to blog as many cards as I can before I apply. Tilly is still doing well and Elliot seems to be behaving a bit better lately - thank goodness!!! I've had a tiny spend today - a stamp and a few K and Co papers - I'm planning a bigger spend tomorrow - the OH went out last night so I'm making it fair and am treating myself!!! Mind you I need to place an order at Wild Orchid soon I seem to have run out of loads of white flowers - I can't resist buying though when I visit that site - there's too many pretty things!

Marg - thanks for the link to the craft store - I've been after some bakers twine but I didn't want to spend a lot on it so her 1 metre lengths are great. I meant to say ta ages ago for the link to that "feling playful" blog too - its so useful - it really helps to keep me organised!

Mad-frog - I had a wasp's nest next to my bedroom window when I lived at home, I hated the thought of them being so close, thankfully my Dad got rid of it quickly.

Lei_Armstrong - can't wait to see your card - it sounds fab, I could do with improving my colouring as I think its started to let my cards down a bit when I look at other people's, I don't think I'm artistic enough though to do all the shading.

    Morning folks :D

As I'm about to head to work (bank holiday pay is lovely!) I thought I'd mention that I've posted last night's cardmaking efforts in the usual place.

They're a bit fancier than I've been doing of late, so I'd love to hear what you think.

Have a lovely holiday Monday all!
