Making cards - Ideas (part 5)

Morning ladies,
Well just got back from the doctors and the diagnosis is: I have low blood sugar levels, the doctor said he thinks it is because i have cut out all sugar and most carbs due to my slimming world diet. He has told me to make sure i have something with sugar in everyday. I also told him i was refused an appointment last week and he was appalled and said he would look into it for me. I have got to go back next week to see how i am doing.
Sorry i haven't read the thread properly yet, will do in a few mos.
But thank you PepPop for the tutorial i will have a look at that in a few minutes
Just catching up and I'm pleased you have got a diagnosis, kms I was just getting ready in my battle fatigues to have a ruck on your behalf.I'll stand down! My boss laughs at me as when I go into full attack I stand up and rant on the phone, must be a freudian thing!
 Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -

Well I am back:j picked up the animals from the kennels first load of washing in and coffee in hand. I have not read back yet but must shout to the THE WIFE in Taunton Deane service area coffee shop yesterday I saw a Red Hat group. what a smiley chatty group they were too I was sooo tempted to ask if they knew you but then I thought better not since I could not remember your real name:rotfl:
Back later once I have read back a "few" pages
Hugs to all
OAP, you should have said hello most of us will stop and have a chat. Some places love us paying a visit as we are no shrinking violets. Most Red Hatters know me as 'Boz' especially if they participate in other Red Hat activities not just their chapter's events.
I believe there was a UK convention somewhere near Barnstaple at the weekend, I could go as I don't think OH would have been very pleased with two weekends away gallavanting. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -
Oooh, more winners! Well done to you all :T.
KMS Fabulous weight loss, you're doing so well :T.
Rainmac Sending best wishes for your mom.
lizalloareds Well done on being asked to make some Xmas cards. Don't sell too cheap, make sure you cover your costs and add a bit for your time.
We've got a slight breeze today so I've got some flanellette sheets out which always take a long time to dry and I wont put them in the tumble dryer as they shrink. D-i-l is doing my washing in her machine while I wait for my new one. I've got to wait until about mid November for the model I want so I'm lucky that I can get it done rather than have to go to the launderette. DH is mopping up a leak in the utility room at the moment, he stupidly left the water connected to the broken washing machine and it's leaked - duh!!!!!!! I have a really exciting job when he's finished - ironing the washing I managed to get dry yesterday :rotfl: .
I've forgotten what I've read now, sorry if I've missed anyone out. Hugs to all, especially the poorlies, hope you all have a good day. OH is off for his hospital check up in about an hour, wont see him till time.

Excuse my stupidness  but what does the ATG stand for? Also What do i need to 'set' eyelets? Is it crop a dile or is there something else? Can anyone recommend where to get one from?
I need to make my fil a birthday card for tomorrow, but not quite sure what to do. I have the image that i want but not quite sure how i am going to do it, it has a front and a back, i was thinking maybe making and apeture and doing like that but then i'm not sure what to do with the background of it, i have popped a pic of the image on my bl*g, so i would appreciate any ideas.0 -
((((rainmac)))) so sorry to read about your mum, knowledge is a good thing and it may help your mum to understand how her body is working right now. My dad had mini strokes for many years and lived till he was 91. Hopefully there are no lasting effects from this one.
Glittermum, I most definitely haven't forgotten about your card swap, it's on my list to do next after DD's. (struggling a bit with it)
Rusty hope things are better with you.
The MSE Collective strikes again! YAY! to our winners. Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -
KMS if you do a search for ATG gun you should find the yellow 3M (them of sticky tape fame) version. I've got one but because I have small hands I find it a little difficult to use. Once it's stuck there's no shifting it. I have thought about running a glue stick over the tape to get it to move a little. My eyesight can play up and papers are often wonky, I often aim things at the bin in a fit of temper. I'd love to know if they do a repositionable tape, that would be perfect for me.
I think someone makes an eyelet setter but I found that difficult at a card-making class and just missed whacking my thumb. A Crop-a-dile is easy to use and worth saving up for. I've punched holes around a scallop edged card with it and threaded ribbon through which I was pleased with. I must admit I don't use it much for eyelets and check out UKscrappers as I've seen the occasional one for sale second-hand:whistle: Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -

Louby - that hamper looks great! Can anyone buy a raffle ticket? I'm very tempted and for such a good cause too!
[/QUOTE]
yes anyone can enter and pay though the paypal link on my blog. It's £1 a go but people can pay more if they want. They get entered each time they donate £1. There is only 2 people that have had a go so far but one paid £3 so she gets 3 chances of winning. I will post it off to the winner and pay for the postage myself.
May be a auction with more items would have been better. charity Auctions seem to go very well on facebook.
