Plastering and repair of partition wall costs?

Hi,

Does anyone know what a fair price would be to replaster a room 3.5 x 3.5m? 3 walls need plastering (including working round a fireplace and sash window), plus fixing a 10 inch tear in one of the partition walls in the room. Only that wall is a hollow partition, the rest are solid masonry. Few decorators have quoted £1000 or so.

Thanks

First of all you don't need a decorator you need a plasterer. £1k seems extremely high for this job. Not seen it but am guessing its prolly more like half that.

    Cheers

agree with above,im a plasterer and would be looking at around half that, depending on what you mean by replastering tho ie a re-skim or hack back to brick/stone and float and set with a backing plaster then finish.
