Incorrect pricing on Esprit trip to Lapland

penfolda
I've been researching Lapland for months and had finally decided to book Esprits 3 night trip to Lapland for a family of 5. I was given a price online of £2900, as I dont have a credit card I phoned Esprit to book this trip. I was then informed this online price was wrong and the amended price was £3800:( I had printed of online pricing and invoice and faxed these to Esprit. The girl I spoke to said she'd speak to her superiors and ring me back. A week later I had to ring again and was told the price I was quoted online was wrong due to 'computer glitch' and I'd have to pay £3800 for the trip. Am I entitled to this holiday at the cheaper rate as this was price quoted online? Surely a goodwill gesture could have been expected??

I would suggest you post this over on the overseas holiday section as this type of query has come up before over there and they may be able to help you0

Looks like a consumer rights question to me....
To the OP a simple answer is no you have no right to the lower price, this goes for any price anywhere including online and in stores. On top of this, even of you had booked online and paid they could still cancel it so just accept it as one of those things...Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

This board though covers the 'invitation to treat' question, regardless of what the item is.
As has already been said there is no right at all to pay an advertised price, regardless fo what it is for.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I suggested to the OP that she post her question on this website as she has asked the same question over on TA - whilst it maybe covered under this section of this website I thought that she may get more responses over on the travel section given that she has had few people reading her post and no answers where as she would have had more assistance over on the travel section - nothing wrong with suggesting that she move it to get more help or is there now a rule saying that we must not help people get more help0

Don't chuck your toys out of the pram. No-one criticised you, they actually offered (in both cases) correct advice.0 -
I ain't throwing any toys and I don't see that any one was criticising me - I was just giving an explanation as to why I suggested what I did and asking if this is no longer the board etiquette - nothing more - nothing less0

Yep, you are having a strop! Board etiquette does discourage multiple threads on the same topic, and as others have said, this is the correct board. It looks like 4743hudsonj answered the question, so no need to repost!Gone ... or have I?0
