Been talk on trip advisor that credit card service is now available at some airports. Also people are getting away with a £20 for two. Can't really see that is such a hardship just to carry your own tenner.
Ps the Scottish currency is definitely a no go.0 -
Not true aaaLazyDaisy. I've been to Turkey twice now (once entering by land from Georgia) and they will happily accept a £20 note for two.0

Discussions like this are really funny!
Two people travelling together.
Hand in their passports and arrival forms together.
Pass over £20.
No change.
Visa stamps x 2.
No problem.
Done it in Istanbul loads of times.
What's the problem then?
I'll tell you the problem.
It's when one person is travelling.
And hands over £20 or £50.
No change!
Silly in't it?
So just make sure you hand over the correct amount in sterling.0 -

Whatever currency you do take guard it very carefully.
The Turks are without doubt the most dishonest, conniving and thieving people you'll ever be unfortunate to meet.
And when they're not pestering you 24/7 to buy fake tat the men will be leering at any women in your party.
But apart from that Turkey is a grand old spot.0 -
Don't take any notice of the aptly named nobjocki - he's a troll (have a look at his previous posts)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

Far from being a troll I have had extensive business dealings in Turkey and my opinions of the people in that country have been garnered from first hand experience.
Even the Turks don't trust the Turks.0 -
I have been turkey a fair few times over the years and never had any problems like nobjocki describes, found the Turks to be friendly and helpul.0

Didn't mean it like that.
Its just that people do worry about being diddled & I was just saying that in my experience I hadn't had that.0
