Personal email from Romania

I've had an email from a potential buyer in Romania.
I've blocked Romania buyers, hence the email.
They've asked if they can buy direct. I've emailed them to ask for their ebay id so I can see their history. This item has been sitting on ebay for 3 months now, so any buyer needs to be considered.
Thoughts?
We would like to purchase upfront the *** available on ebay.co.uk at 75 pounds. Since I do not have an paypal acccount we would like to send directly the money to your account, if it is not unconvinient for you. Since we are from Romania we would appreciate if you could send it by post. We will pay for transport too. We would appreciate if you could help us. We want the item
and cannot get it from other UK stores as they do not deliver to romania and
in their local store we do not find these items. Therefore we will highly value
your help. Hoping for a positive reply,

More experienced eBayers will advise you on the merits of the offer, but my comment is in response to the buyer's location being Romania:
I've only ever sent one item to a Romanian address and that allegedly went missing, lost without trace. There was something suspicious about the speed (7 days) by which the buyer declared the item (an inexpensive CD) was lost and would never be received, and the text had the definite feel of a standard message, sent to every seller.
Unconvinced, I had a search on Google and it appears the Romanian post office is extremely inefficient, being something of a Cold War relic, where post has to be collected, rather than it being delivered and employees are known to charge mysterious taxes to tourists.
It would seem trackable services don't exist in Romania as we know them and with so much known inefficiency, I think you are taking a chance by sending your item to that country. Personally, I wouldn't do it."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

I just sent my first two items to Romania, no problem (although I admit I was nervous and only sent them as they were low value). They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

I too have sold to Romania with no problems whatsoever0

You presumably sent them with International tracking?
Given that Romania doesn't appear to offer such a tracking service, how did you achieve this?"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

I had a bidder from Romania and he won, but unfortunately never pay!
So, any request from Romania are ignored.May 2013:0 -

You can't fault her just because her experience is different from yours.
I have sold one item to Romania, it got through, but it wasn't very expensive, and it was in a normal envelope (a postcard) rather than anything fancy so ... it's really up to the OP what she wants to do, if she's not happy, she's not happy, but I haven't had a problem with cheap items either."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

mmm - they've just got back to me. They have no ebay account as well as no paypal account. They were googling for the item and my ebay listing popped up.
I understand that bank transfers are normally fine, but didn't someone hack into Clarksons account when he printed his sort code and account number in The Sun.
I think if it was a smaller value item, then I'd risk it, but this feels too dodgy to me.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Continental Europeans regularly use bank transfer to pay for things. All you are giving out is the details anyone would see on any cheque, plus a number IBAN/SWIFT which is on your statement (to facilitate international payment)."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

If you except an international bank transfer you as the receiver get charged. It's normally 10 or 15 pounds. I must admit reading their original email sets alarm bells to me.
Personally I would avoid.0
