Hi, Well i work for a energy company, and from what i know, i think you can submit a claim if there hasn't been any gas, BUT i don't think they have to pay out for loss of supply, because believe it or not, Gas is classed as a luxury and Not essential to live, so because of this, a supplier be it National Grid, can leave u without, However if you mention the children you might get further. I can find out details for u when at work if u need contact details to claim? Let me know.0 -
that would be sooo helpfull !!:beer:0

Okay i will take a look at the service standards tomorow and will let you know.0

I don't work for an energy company so can probably help you
You can claim £30 if you are cut off from gas for a period in excess of 24 hours. You can also get a further £30 for each additional 24 hours you are disconnected.
The transporter must tell you about the right to claim this compensation and make the payment within 20 working days of a valid claim.
These are the statutory amounts the transporter is obliged to pay to compensate consumers

You probably can't claim for damage to the carpets. Unless they were digging up your floor, it sounds like it was you or your family's dirty shoes that soiled the carpet."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I wouldnt worry about it. The work is done now and all is well.
Its hard work digging around in the roads in this kind of weather.
Did you think to make them a cup of tea..?
They are human and a little kindness goes a long way.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -

Hey Gem, well as already stated, after speaking with National Grid enquirys today on 0845 6056677, they advised that for every FULL 24 hour period you entitled to the £30 loss of service payment, They automatically send the information to the current supplier of the home within 20 days, and they should then refund to you, however once National Grid have provided the information to Your power company it's down to them how fast they work through the spreadsheet and give you your money. Any your right a cup of tea goes a long way :-)0
