Hi all,

I have received my new BarclayCard Platinium card yesterday. While it is still advertised 2.5% handling fees on their website, the terms and conditions I have received with the card says handling fees on balance transfers are 2.90% (still 14 months and £5000 limit)!

So are you saying I can't BT to another MBNA card lets say regular Virgin ?
I thought I read on stoozing that people have rung up MBNA and said switch my card and credit limit to the other MBNA lets say from VA it regular virgin card and give me the 0% intro and my existing credit limit

I need a new card soon for transfer. Already have HSBC, Barclaycard, MBNA, Sainsburys and Halifax (beet transferring for a few years as need to sort finances out - ALMOST there).

Thinking of the Virgin 15 month one or Tesco 12 month. Any ups/downs/reccommendations?

Not directly (see the relevant 'brand' website)...only via an SBT.

That's very true, but there's a crucial difference...you have existing debt. Stoozers make the request with a zero balance on the other (redundant) card.

If I were you, I'd ring Customer Services, during normal business hours if possible, with your Ts&Cs to hand. As you say, the deal is still advertised but, irrespective of what's on the website, it's the credit agreement you signed that counts

Well, I can certainly recommend the Virgin card, but it's underwritten by MBNA. As you already have an MBNA card, I'd plump for Tesco, which belongs to the Royal Bank of Scotland stable

Tesco are not known for generous credit limits. The reverse in fact. Sorry to disappoint you.

Hello all

Im looking to get a balance transfer of my HSBC mastercard which I have had since I started at Uni in 2000. After fluctuating balances on it being as high as £4242 ive now got it down to by having an egg loan and paying off more than the minimum per month £1154.59 and the interest is 19.9 apr which is why i want to switch to something with a lower interest

I currently pay off £100 per month and using some due overtime should have the card down to under £1000 by the end of the year and looking to get a Virgin Credit Card with the 15 month balance transfer deal

I have an Egg credit card which I have cleared the other month with a one off payment so I cancelled my direct debit however they told me that I should do that so would have to pay a further one off payment of £5.52 and reset up my direct debit so currently i have a positive amount of £5.52 on my egg card

My basic question is do you think having an egg card and an egg loan standing at £2800 and this !!!! up over my direct debit stand against me getting a virgin credit card with a limit of £1000+

Any help greatly appreciated
