only person in the street snapping away like some old perv.

Which is exactly how I felt on an RE job in a shopping centre - and I'm female

You pay class2, you only pay class 4 if your self employed profits are over a set figure (around £5400 for the year 2009/10 if memory serves me correctly) and Class 4 (if theres any to pay) is calculated via your self assessment tax return.

im obviously having a bad day and have my dumb head on, so if you pay class 1 in your normal job, and earn less that 5k or whatever it is doing msing do you pay 2 or 4?

If you're paying NI through your main job then theres no reason to pay class 2, you need to get a small earnings exemption certificate from the National Insurance Contrics office (you can apply via HMRC.gov.uk)
  • ah thanks very much for that - have just re read it all again and answered my own question, but thanks very much :) and i very much doubt i would get £5400 msing lol, nice if i did tho! thanks again :)

Have you seen the new lowest record for RE pub fees? I accepted one only yesterday as it's just a 2-minute walk where I'm going to be which paid 2 quid more. 2 quid difference is huge when talking about RE fees! Wish the newbies would stop accepting assignments from them to hit them where it hurts and actually pay decent moolah!

Have just started doing edigital surveys and seem to be getting in the swing of it. Do I have to do every one they allocate me, will I be penalised if I say no?
I had 3 on the go and then they asked for another, but there would not have been enough time to wait for an email response, I messaged them to explain but have heard nothing and they have it marked as open.

They only allocate ones you have shown an interest in! If you dont want to do certain ones you have applied for then go to pending invites and click on remove. They can be time consuming so bear this in mind when applying for them....sometimes they suddenly throw huge batches my way and I end up burning the midnite oil to get them done. Also if they have given you a last minute one to do it is more than likely someone has dropped out. I have found that they will defer the date to allow the email response to arrive.
  • Purchased myself a lovely smart phone for msìng. Turns out to be a lot smarter than me :rotfl:off I went yesterday to do my egg shops and couldn`t work out how to use the camera. Cue me returning home with 3 minute video footage of car roofs, feet, pavements and then an awful experience of the picture wizzing 360 degrees towards the sky...but right at the end a perfect shot of the store front. I managed to grab a still from that. I am reading the instruction manual before setting off today :)

I accepted two of them this morning and never noticed the drop in fees. Oops! :(
