Airmail from UK to Vietnam - how long does it take?

I posted an item to Vietnam on the 8th Sept and it hasn't arrived yet :( I've googled until I'm blue in the face but I can't find any sort of answer to how long on average an airmail small packet should take. 5 days + is all Royal Mail site is telling me which isn't a lot of help.

Can I assume it is lost? :(

TIA.

If it's to a major city, one with an airport, it should be there in ten working days. Out in the boonies, could take months. If your buyer is complaining, refund him.
  • From memory, RM use 25 working days to consider an item lost for airmail non Europe parcels.

    Found it...
    1. If you would like to claim compensation, please wait 15 working days from due delivery date for an item sent within the UK, or 25 days for an item sent overseas (20 days for Europe). This is the time limit we set before we consider an item lost.

    Thank you. Gosh, months..... really?!

He's not actually complaining, he's just asked when it was posted. Would it be fair to ask him to wait a little longer?

    I've been Money Tipped!
Phnom Penh, Cambodia, takes about 3 weeks to get to the owner.

as they're next door to each other, and of a similar development nature, I'd imagine that postal systems are similar too.
