Dispute with Town & City parking

In March whilst parked in a free supermarket car park I returned to my vehicle to find a PCN from Town & City Parking ltd stating I was parking obstructively. The fine was for £25 (I think) if I paid within 10 days. I believed I was parked in a legitimate space so took photo's and sent T&CP a dispute letter (within 10 days) along with the images saying I was parked in a legitimate bay.
Now, after 3 letters between myself and T&CP I've today received a letter from a firm called A.A.Hutton LLP on behalf of Town & City Parking Ltd. The letter is demanding £80 for the parking charge notice which I disputed. The letter is threatening me with legal action if I do not pay, on this forum a high number of people are saying to ignore all correspondence as there is no legality for payment from either T&CP or AAHLLP.
Could anyone please advise what I should do? I really don’t want to end up with a court summons however most of you are saying to ignore all correspondence? I realise now I should have ignored the notice from the start! Any advice is appreciated!

Don't make any further contact, and keep on ignoring!

The ticket is not enforceable, their terms have no basis in law, parking bays in private car are advisory only, the car park is free to park in, so there is no loss to them, actually only the landowner can claim for any loss, they don't own the land.

Do you need any more reasons not to pay ?
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • As you have found out, there is no such thing as an appeal process with these clowns.
It's not a PCN or a fine. Town & City are very well known and do not do court as they know very well that they would lose, for the reasons described above by Taffy.
Their usual letter chain can be seen in this thread, though you may get a few different ones as you have contacted them.
Just ignore, they will eventually give up.
  • Thanks for the advice.

I have since received two further letters from AAHLLP, one of them today marked as 'URGENT' which states: if i do not contact their office by return they may have no choice but to proceed with legal action against me without further notice. To stop this from happening -i basically need to pay up.
There is also a disclaimer on the bottom of the letter which reads: No further imtimation will be given and i may be liable for any court expenses incurred. It did state this on the previous two letters and they have continued to write to me.

I am wondering if this is the usual pattern of communication from these companies and is your advice to continue to ignore them and they will go away?

    Thanks

Have you looked at the letter chain referred to in post 4? Does that assist?

    Continue to ignore.
