  • Smashed my £10 a day target with a lot of eBaying and selling a cake.

    Chuffed!

Reached my £200 target for the camera already, but I think we need more to get something worth having so I'm upping it to £300.

Next month I'm going to be saving to get my watch repaired, and the month after I'm starting my kitchen fund. It needs repainting, new flooring and a new oven so I need to save around £1000. It's so awful in there.

Well done on the £10 a day target! :T

I think if you are buying something like a camera it is worth paying the extra money for something decent.
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000

Definitely, especially as the £10 a day went so well. I wasn't expecting to hit target until well into March so I'll see how much more I can put aside.

How are you doing? Miss your updates!

I'm doing really well thanks :) You can see from my sig that I have reached my target for holiday 1 and am on my way towards target for holiday 2. Holiday 1 is booked! Little Miss and I are going to Lanzarote for a week on 9th April. Really looking foward to it :D It is a brilliant feeling that it is all paid for including spending money and I haven't had to get back into debt for it at all. My sealed pot for Christmas is nearly full! I am on target for my £12k in 2012 challenge (only aiming for £5k as that is challenge enough!) All little accounts for different things filling up nicely.

  • That's great! You definitely deserve both of those holidays :j

What's the £5k for? Just for some security or do you have plans for it?

I've jumped 2% and up to 66% now - almost at my next goal of 66.66% which I think I will reach tomorrow :)

    Thank you :)

The £5k is just to have some savings in the bank. I spotted the challenge in around November (I think - would have to go back and check my first post there) and thought it would be a good idea to put my former loan payments into savings and it would give me a goal to aim for. It was before I got the money from my grandad's estate and I am not including that money in the challenge. Originally I was going to aim for £8k but then I realised that I wouldn't have £8k in the bank at the end of the year as some would be for Little Miss's birthday, some for holidays, some for Christmas, etc so I reduced it to the £5k. It definitely is a challenge for me though!

Roll on tomorrow for the 66.66% :D

I think that's great! Hopefully once you've reached that target you'll feel comfortable and be able to enjoy being DF even more!
