Get online quotes for the new car as they are valid for 3 months.
Then you have several options
1) Use companies like dayinsure.com to buy cover in 28 day periods
2) Insure your current car with the company that gave the best quote for the new car and argue the toss with them to honour their original quote when you change car and they try to sting you.
3) Insure your current car with the current cheapest and cancel after 8 weeks. Be sure to factor in any cancellation fees when comparing prices.
I'd go for 1 or 3, depending on how the prices compare.0 -
Unlikely to charge you £200 for less than 2 weeks use, They will usually charge an admin fee though.
Getting a new policy will work out expensive as you wont be able to use your no claims discount.
If they do charge £200 wait until the policy expires then buy the new car & insure elsewhere.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Ask your Insurance company to give you a quote for the new car, then ask them how much to change it over when the new car arrives.
