If you pay a bill via a credit card that has 0% interest on new purchases, does the bill payment count as a payment or as a money transfer? I'm just checking because the money transfers are exempt from the 0% offer.

Can you clarify which "bills" you're talking about?0

- If you pay a bill for groceries that would be classed as a purchase.
- If you pay a bill for foreign currency or a gambling transaction that would almost invariably be classed as a money transfer.

Almost certainly a purchase but check with your CC provider. Do HMRC charge a premium if you use a CC?thefair1973 wrote: »It is actually to pay Stamp Duty Land Tax online via the HMRC's BillPay system. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??
