Is it possible to rip MP3's when they're on your HDD?

Hi all
I have a DVD with lots of different MP3's on that I want to convert some to listen in the car. When I insert the DVD and try to use Windows Media Player to rip the files on the it, it won't rip because it's a DVD and not a CD. It justs asks for an audio CD. So, I just dragged a load of songs from the DVD onto the desktop and started Media Player again. However, Media Player seems to only want to rip from the CD Drive and it doesn't seem to have the option to rip from the desktop.
Any advice

Hi
Now you have the mp3 files on your desktop they are already ripped.
What you need to do now is burn an audio CD.
There's a tutorial here:-http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Burn-a-CD-or-DVD-in-Windows-Media-PlayerNever interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
Aye, the RIPPING part is getting them off the media onto your PC in an mp3 format
As you have drag-and-dropped them already to your PC, do what bat999 suggests to burn them
Good luckThere are 10 kinds of people that understand binary
