Car Insurance - Some Help Please?

My girlfriend is looking to insure on a car and she almost has 2 years no claims. (around 1 1/2 months off)

If she took out the insurance now, and then notified them once she hit 2 years no claims, would that push the amount she pays down so she would be refunded the extra?

No good.

They won't do that - you only get completed years NCB at the start of the policy.

Do some online quotes and see the difference in the price between one and two years.

If it is cost effective she could changeover the car on the existing policy (there would be a charge for making the change, plus maybe a change in the premium for the new car), then she will have 2 years NCB to get a new policy with at renewal.

If she already has a policy running then she doesnt have any no claims bonus to actually transfer.

Why start a policy 1 1/2 months early?

Or she won't have a car for the next 6 weeks as she needs to get one for her new job.
