Recently I've had two letters from LTSB.
Today I received one in a First Class envelope.
Date LTSB wrote the letter was 13 Septmeber.
16 days to reach me First Class, I don't think so.
Last week I had a similar letter first class postage again.
This letter was dated 7 September by LTSB.
I received it 21 September.
14 Days to reach me first class.
So two letters taking longer than two weeks to reach me first class.
This I do not believe and wonder why LTSB appear to be pre dating their letters.

are you sure there isnt a postal issue with the royal mail rather than launching shots at the bank?;)0 -
What's the content of the letter?
If it's account significant (e.g. charges etc) standard letters then you need to look at the Post Office.
If it's very much a personalised letter (e.g. a response to an enquiry instigated by you) it is likely to be either bank or Post Office, probably bank.
It it's a standard update on terms and conditons or marketing then they will be delivered to customers in phases (although I'd have expected these to go second class).0 -

It's a 'Collecting your signature' letter.
For telephone banking use only.
They have to be joking shewerly. It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -
The system dates them when they're selected for printing. Then they have to break up the print file into manageable chunks. Then they print them. Then they put them onto the inline mailers and envelope them. Then they probably mailsort them using hardware (as opposed to software prior the print stage).
As what you have received is not considered priority (so why First Class? Because they don't think!) ...... all of that has to be done around the normal daily print load. Hence there will be a time delay of 10-12 days before they go to Royal Mail.
And - yes - they could post date them in order people don't complain on forums.
But they use the system date in order they know the date of selection just in case the output is transaction sensitive and you raise a query. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
