faulty ipod

I brought a second hand i pod from CEX exchange shop in June of this year . It worked fine up intil two weeks ago when it started to turn itself off and when i did get it to turn on again ALL the music on it was wiped off !! this happened a once,and i was able to get the music back on and it was ok for a few days . Then when it happened for the second time and i tried to get the music back on the i pod gave me a message that i needed to go to the apple web site , this i did but still couldn't get it to work . I have no bugs or virus on my computer so it has not been corupted by my pc . I took it back to the shop and they said to leave it with them while they had a look ,when i went back I was told that they had been on the apple site , and that the fault the i pod had ment that it had been dropped from a great hight or been smahed around , neither of these had happened as i only used it a few times and it had always been in my pocket,also no damage was on the i pod to even sugest that this had happened .but because this is what the site said it was no longer a problem that they had to deal with and that i would have to send it back to apple myself and pay for the repair. I am now left with an broken i pod that i paid eighty five pounds for as I have contacted apple and i have been told that i need to have a number that should have been on the box before they would even look at it , and after explaining to them that i was not given the correct box when i brought it they will not exept it back !! help what can i do now ?

Go back to the CEX exchange shop and tell them it isn't working properly. you might have more luck with them.
