Council Tax Benefit

I am currently the director of my own company and take a wage of £92.80 per week, i have put in a claim for Council Tax Benefit and they have asked to see our accounts for last year.

I persume i can refuse to show them? since legally the company is a seperate entity and its not relevant how much profit the company earned and only what i take as a wage.

We actually made a loss last year anyway but that's not the point.

They will probably make sure that your not paying the minimum so that you are entitled to benefits aswell if that makes sense. I am not 100% sure on what you have to show and what you dont but if you are entitled to it and showing the records is the only way then it can't harm, surely?!
