Free Parking in Liverpool City center for a few hours

Hi,
I have just moved to liverpool and I was wondering if anyone one knows where I can park my car in (near) the city center for free for a few hours to go around the shopping centre, look around...
A bit of a walk is fine as I get to learn more of the streets, let me know if there are any supermarkets (eg tesco, asda...) with parking that I could use for a couple of hours.

You are better off parking at a village trainstation and getting the rail in for the sake of a couple of pound return. There are plenty of park and ride facilities available in Liverpool.0
