As the MSE team made the above post a permanent feature on the first page of the forum, along with other rules and regulations, I have taken this to be the 'rule', not the one you have quoted. However, as weeowen67 stated, this matter has "never reached a conclusion". A definitive statement from the MSE team would be appreciated.

As a final note...I have reported you to abuse. I view your repeated saracastic and rude responses to weeowen's posts (poorly disguised as light hearted with a laughing smilie or two) as harassment. You have twisted well intentioned comments made on a thread from months ago to suit your own agenda. In my opinion this is totally unacceptable behaviour.

The so-called sticky you mention pre-dates the decision posted in January 2010. In any event the so-called sticky states that people should try not to hotlink. It does not state that it is against the rules of the forum, and is further clarified by the post mentioned earlier which is from the MSE Administration team. The latter statement states that MSE administration consider that hotlinking is permissible unless the host site registers objection.

My earlier posts re this topic have merely re-iterated what is the clear position at present of the MSE Administration. Insofar as I am aware, neither you nor Weeowen are part of that administration, and I therefore find it somewhat surprising that both of you seem to think that you can inform others with an assumed air of authority what may or may not be the current stance of the MSE Administration.

Contrary to your earlier assertion, I have read all the rules and conditions applicable to this site, and in particular, all posts relating to hotlinking. I have therefore merely tried to enlighten others who seem to think that some people on this site have a degree of authority, which they clearly have not. I have further tried to be fair in those posts, and have quoted in full the relevant passages.

I have not in any event sought to hotlink.

I am completely unaware of the thinly veiled sarcasm to which you refer. I have thanked Weeowen on each and every occasion that I have entered a competition which he has posted. If you seek to read into something that is not there, then frankly that is your choice.

I am aware, of course, that Weeowen, against the rules of the site, chose to publish on this site a private message sent by me. I have reported that matter as abuse. All private messages are subject to copyright law, the rights to which vest in me. It is my choice whether to have such published, and my solicitors have confirmed that I could seek legal redress for this blatant breach of copyright.

I have always strived to adhere to the principles of this site, and have never knowingly breached any rules. I would be grateful in future if you would keep your personal views to yourself, and if you are of the belief that I have breached any rules, to either pm me or as, in fact you have done, report me for abuse.

Frankly I take the view that your posts, and that of one or two others, who seem to jump down my throat at every possible opportunity to be equally a matter of harrassment, and for that reason, I am reporting your post as abuse.
