Luckily, I've never been an inpatient. Or perhaps not luckily if it would have stopped any of the suicide attempts. I know that a&e here treat you like something on the bottom of their shoe if you end up there for anything self inflicted.

I'll try my MP if I don't get anywhere on my own. Right now I'm trying to deal with the debt I've built up, I can only face fighting one thing at a time for now.

I am glad...and I hope you never have to be.....

As bad as I know the 'system' is....it still always shocks me that people are 'treated' with the minimum effort and chucked back out...I just really don't get that at all....treat properly the first time and give appropriate help...and you won't (hopefully) have readmissions/other 'incidents'.....makes sense to me.....the powers that be only see budget figures...

Re A&E....it amazes me the lack of knowledge these people...actually other wards as well (other than psychiatric wards) have about mental health......after mum got knocked over A&E sent her home with a fractured leg...which was visible on the xray...but because she said she couldn't feel any pain...thought she was ok! FACT...she has LT MH probs and absolutely hates hospitals and would do/has done anything to get out of them! And she wasn't given her meds when she was admitted 'because she said she didn't need them'....

Sorry to go on.....I do get on my soap box at times......Like you say, one thing at a time...just don't take on too much eh? Take care XXXX

Hi angel. If I were you I'd phone my local DIAL who may then refer you on to Welfare Rights Advisory Service. Both of these wonderful charities can move mountains!
    Good luck hun.

I'm already in touch with DIAL, and they were disgusted about the ss attitude. They mentioned making a complaint but nothing's been said since. I really can't see them changing their minds, it means spending money which they just don't want to do.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
