Sneaky Sainsbury's Credit Card

in Credit cards
I'm posting this in the event that it may stop anyone running into problems with their Sainsbury Credit Card.
From this month, statement dates have been changed slightly for the majority of customers, but the repayment period has been drastically reduced. My statement was issued on line yesterday (28th Sept) but not viewable until one day later, with payment being due on 13th October. As September is a 30 day month, this is effectively a two week period to get you statement and pay.
This is now the shortest period of any of the cards we hold. It also means that going on holiday to somewhere without internet access means that as I pay my balance in full I would have to set up arrangements for direct debit to pay an amount whilst I was away.
I find this completely unsatisfactory and it now means that this card will be relegated to the back of the drawer.
I know these changes were published in advance but not everyone checks every leaflet that comes with their statement.
I hope this posting helps folk avoid any financial problems with this card.

Most of my cards are 2-3 weeks. Which is why I set up a full balance DD payment, so it's never a problem.0

That's great. I just hope everyone is as estute as you.0

I think it's probably unlikely.0

To be fair, even if it's a minimum payment DD it'll cover you and get to them on time so you could top it up later. I have one DD for full payment and another min payment for the other car which I then manually pay off. It's this kind of thing that us astute folk do....0

LMAO, assumably the OP is on a windup here, blaming Sainsburys for their own clear deluded misgivings.0
