Hugely Under-Paid for the job

To be honest I kind of distrust the OP's judgement after reading this thread. It sounds to me like she came here looking for a certain answer and thus phased her OP in such a way to get that answer. Clearly qualification and experience play a MASSIVE role in pay - even if you're doing identical jobs. If she feels she is getting paid too little then ask the company for more money, set out what she brings, and what they would loose if she jumped ship.
It might be an issue of gender discrimination but since there is nobody in the company with comparable qualifications doing a similar job (even by the OP's admission) it would be absolutely impossible to prove.0 -

If an employer pays for its male employees to obtain the relevant qualifications, but leaves a female employee doing the same or similar work to get the qualifications in her own time and at her own expense, this in itself may point to sex discrimination.
We don't have enough information, but certainly the issues are not as simple as some posters imagine (I say this as a lawyer who has been involved in sex discrimination cases to court of appeal level).I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Fantastic post SarEL I couldn't agree more.
Sorry, not totally up to speed on how equality act has changed procedures etc but would it be worth her filing either a sex discrimination or equal pay questionnaire?0
