Although NTL are the outright winners of Worlds Worst Customer Service Award, they havent been too bad with my service.
I signed up for basic tv, broadband and phone for £30 a month. All installed ok. TV and phone are billed together and BB separatley. However, i only get charged £17 for tv and phone and £6 for BB. (????) i'm not complaining either!!
Lightning knocked out TV out a couple of months ago and they upgraded the tv channels for a month for free. Still getting them for free!!!:think:0 -

Plus in this flat we have freeview built in. In that flat there is nothing so got to start from scratch. (not even a BT line- there's an old disused point; flat has just been refurbished and landlord doesn't know the previous owner's no either). The road is cabled for ntl and obviously BT is possible.
No idea how long it would take and in what order to avoid minimum disruption to our bband connection at least.
another thing about BT is that they'll charge an arm and a leg for installation (tho you might be able to get them to do it as a re-connect)0 -

I had a new ntl box instaled and the engineer explained I'd get all the channels free for 3 days cos the system was being updated. 6 months on: they are still all there, even though I have now cancelled my subscription0 -
Landlord pays for the BT line
or Ntl installation as the flat is supposed to come with a working phone.
I would like (assuming I get the flat aaaaaaaaa)
1. Zen ISP
2. TV with Sky sports and paramount comedy
3. cheapest phone calls incl the possibility of using call checker to phone abroad which you can do with a BT line, not sure NTL?
I just know there is NTL to this building and everyone cancelled it!
As for inside the window, I could ask the Sky engineer but it would look a bit odd, mean we couldn't open the window and make a hell of a hole wouldn't it?!
All tbc next week. Thanks for the advice everyone.0 -
Don't go with NTL what ever you do. I was a subscriber for a number of years, tried to get Broadband (this is when they first started it) and could not get it installed. Spoke to NTL they said I had to phone the external supplier, phone the external supplier and they say I had to phone NTL, and each time at least 1 hour on the phone waiting for them.
I would recommend Freeview as this gives you FilmFour at least, otherwise have you considered an internet TV package, I am sure that I read somewhere that you can get Sky Movies and Sky Sports via the Internet now, but am not sure if I have remembered it correctly.
NTL has definetely the worst customer service in the world and are also reasonably well known for charging you bills after you have left the company, or at least they tried it with me until I complained that I had cancelled my subscription.
Anyway, good luck in finding a decent solution.0 -
If you plug away at ntl you can get some fair deals.
But we're considering leaving them and getting Freeview and maybe Zen as I know how good Zen are. We have kept our BT line as well as having phone with ntl.
Just stay well cool with ntl and you might be OK.Where now?0
