My 21yrs old daughter is living and working in Germany for nine months as part of her degree. I have a direct debit set up which regularly transfers money to her English bank account. She has a German bank account into which her wages are paid and which she uses to pay bills by direct debit. She accesses the cash that I pay into her English account using cash machines. Is this the best way to do it?

She might be being charged for withdrawing. I say might, most probably. Ask her to look at her statement.
It may not be worthwhile and just use her wages, and save the money you send her, if its possible.0
