Hi Guys,
What do you suggest that I do this year in order to strengthen my CV?
I am studying a Finance & Accounting degree, and wish to apply for placements next year. My UCAS points are low, however I am self funding myself through my AAT qualification and I also have 18 months work experience as a trainee accountant.
I look forward to any advice.

make an appointment with your careers service. they will go through your CV and make it tailored to you. they'll also have experience of helping students get on placement courses. it's an underused uni service - make the most of it!:happyhear0 -
It's hard to say without seeing your CV as it is. Extracurricular stuff is always good, particularly where you can point to competencies. Everything in graduate recruitment focuses on competencies: you'll be scored based on them and asked to give examples where you've shown them. Write your CV with those in mind. There's examples here:

Would it be possible for me to share my CV with you to take a look?

If you want to. Don't think I could be all that useful though! Your uni careers service will be a lot more helpful.0

you'd need to see a cv with someone from your background applying to the same jobs for it to be useful and even then, you should really do this yourself!:happyhear0
