Hello, ive had a recent issue with a car insurance company. I canceled the policy, and they required some evidence for a refund which i produced, then they said they are "processing my refund". This was 10 days ago, and I have emailed them since, asking them when they will pay up, to which they have not replied.

So my learned friends, what would be my next stage? I do not know what to do next - do i threaten them with legal route? Write to the FSA or the financial ombudsmen?

I am honestly bewildered and would seriously like some genuine advice.

Thanks in advance.

Thrifter.

P.s. I paid by debit card.

Why not right a real letter to the insurance company?

    Send it Recorded Delivery.

Tell them exactly what you want to happen and when you expect it to happen.

Also tell them what will happen when your deadline has passed... i.e. you will start an action in the small claims court for recovery of your money.

Having said all that, ten days isn't really a long time to have been waiting, is it? Unless of course they told you different.

Companies like that always drag their heels refunding, a simple phone call will gee them up.
