What's the going rate for a Combi bolier sevice?

Hi,

I want to get my boiler serviced and I have been quoted £60+vat. Does that sound about right?

Also my boiler has been dripping (a little) for the past few days since we started turning the heating on again (didn't have it on over the summer months). The pressure is high too (I think the valve needs to be turned). Should I be worried or shall I just wait till the service man comes. He is due to come next Tuesday, but possibly Friday.

Good evening: then it becomes more than an annual service.Make sure you mention this detail to the RGI before he/she arrives for the 'annual service'. Price varies dependent on your location in the UK, boiler model and manufacturer's servicing requirements.

Thanks guys. Are there any questions I should ask him before he comes round e.g is there a call out charge, have the quote on paper etc

It's the first time I have had to do this kind of stuff.

That price should get a boiler service and inspection, which should find where the leak is and what is causing it.

Fixing the leak, unless it is a simple tightening of a joint, will probably be extra, or maybe you could get the tea and biscuits out.

Sounds in the right ball park. I think our last service and gas safety cert check was about £90 (inner London). If the guy is any good he'll service it and tell you of any issues. Our guys always checks safety, cleans it, checks it works properly (and efficiently), checks operating pressures etc. If it needs work, like this time, then he lets us know how serious it is and quotes us.
