Playing burned CD's in car?
I've recently got a newer car (52 plate) and for some reason CD's (that I've burned) do not want to play. I've googled the subject and read that most car stereos will only play CD-Rs which is fine 'cos that's what I'm using. Some CD's I've burned are mp3 files and others are wma files.
I've tried burning new versions on new CD-R discs - again some files are wma and others are mp3 but nothing plays. I've burned them using media player and nero but nothing - the cd played just says 'no disc' and spits it back out!
Is there anyone out there that can help before I cry and waste all of the 25 discs I bought today

Not all CD players can play mp3 or wma files. You may need software to burn such files in a standard audio CD format. I believe it is available as freeware.
If you have a copy of a standard CD which does play, that may be the case.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. You should be burning Audio CDs, not Data CDs.
Data CDs will just hold the songs in MP3/WMA format. Audio CDs convert the songs into Audio CD format. Audio CDs can carry upto 72 minutes of music.
What program are you using to burn the CDs?0 -
Google "convert mp3 to audio cd format freeware" and you'll get some software listed.

I've used Nero and have been burning as audio as opposed to data. I've also burned them via media player which I presume will automatically be audio?0
