Mobiles.co.uk "Guaranteed Next Day Delivery" (Vent)

I'm not usually one to vent on this board, but this one has got me going.
On Sunday, I bought a mobile phone on the mobiles.co.uk website (part of CPW). The website advertised "guaranteed next day delivery" and "in stock", which is why I chose them. Plus there was good cashback available on a cashback website.
I would have expected the order to be delivered today (Tuesday).
Got an email yesterday saying the item wasn't dispatched that day and not to expect delivery. Reason given was high number of orders.
Heard nothing from them today and my card is still not charged. So no chance of a delivery tomorrow (Wednesday).
So the delivery is already at least 2 days late - so much for guaranteed next day delivery :mad:

I agree I would be frustrated in your situation.
I would contect them for definate if you haven't already, there may actually be a problem with your order, or you may not meet their next day criteria, for instance if you don't fall within their next day delivery area, as some areas are not covered.
If I met all the criteria etc and can match the offer elsewhere I would go elsewhere for definate.
I must say I have used their service once and had no problems whatsoever.0 -
I phoned them yesterday. In the queue for 35 minutes before I gave up. Phoned up again later and got through in 20 minutes.
Their excuse was the delay was due to "the exceptionally good cashback deals". He put the order through immediately and I can see (from the Royal Mail website) the phone is out for delivery today.0 -
Well at least the guy has done his best to rectify the problem. I probably would be satisfied with that myself, rather than complain further.
But if I got asked about the company, either via a survey, online review or word of mouth, I would warn people the next day delivery isn't neccesarily true.
It's frustrating, because when it comes to something like a new phone, it is usually an exciting moment, getting a new toy or it's an essential, because the other phone has broken and so you're eager to get another phone ASAP.0 -

Phone is currently out for delivery with RM, so should be here before 1pm.0 -

Although they didn't do exactly what they say - It is a plus that they did communicate with you initially and say that your order wouldn't be sent as hoped.
At least you would then not have sat at home all day wondering when the delivery would be made and get even more annoyed by being let down.
Seems all is well now, although I wouldn't of been happy about queing on a phone system for 45mins.0 -
I am having problems with mobiles.co.uk i placed a order for a iphone 4 on 5/10/10 at about 9am via quidco as they have a £100 cashback at the mo i was so excited the cash back tracked at 0.01p
then on the evening of the 5th i got a email saying there is a issue with you order & your phone hasnt been send out
phoned them on the 6/10 & was on hold for 60mins :mad: when i got thro the i explained to the lady who said sorry im going to have to put you on hold while i look into this, so back on hold for another 10mins:mad: a guy then came on the phone & said theres nothing wrong with your order just there was no 1 in on the 5/10 in the upgrade dept so my new phone would be sent out today 6/10 he also said that the cash back should update when the phone is dispatched.
Well the phone wasnt sent out on the 6th & its now far to late for them to send it out today 7th,so i guess i will need to phone them again tomorrow, i guess the very earliest im likely to get it now is going to be 11th because of the weekend. god so im annoyed so much for next day:(0 -

I have phoned orange who have said that i am eligible for a upgrade and that there is no problem oranges end.
Argh so looks like i will have to wait till the morning and spend god knows how long on hold :mad:0 -

Have spoken to them today after 30mins on hold and they have said it will be sent out today:T and ive now received a confirmation email.
So if i havent received it by Monday i will cancel & go elsewhere. Just hoping the cashback tracks now0
